Aon FPE Welcomes Mr. Kim Clawson

Aon Fire Protection Engineering (Aon FPE) is pleased to welcome Mr. Kim Clawson, AIA, CSI, to the position of Project Manager in the Chicago Regional Office.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Kim earned the Faculty Award for Scholastic Achievement while at the University of Nebraska; and in 2011, he was the recipient of a Silver Medal from Tau Sigma Delta, the National Honor Society in Architecture and the Allied Arts, “…for a record of distinction in leadership in the field of Architecture”.
Prior to joining Aon FPE, Kim owned his own firm, Clawson Consultants. Kim’s other notable work history includes Goettsch Partners as Director of Production; OWP/P Architects, as Senior Project Manager; and Kennedy King Architects.
Kim’s broad knowledge of the IBC, Life Safety Code, Chicago Building Code and accessibility regulations; his familiarity with various local building codes and regulations; and his extensive involvement in implementation of projects in the United States, China, and the Middle East will serve him well in his new role as Project Manager for Aon FPE.
Mr. Clawson has authored multiple reference documents including, among others: 1) “Summary of Current Accessibility Requirements for the United States: Federal, State, and Local Requirements”, a reference document for architects, summarizing current laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines; 2) “QA\QC Construction Document Guidelines” a 128-page publication which standardized protocols to ensure coordination, completeness, improved efficiency of document preparation; and 3) Standardized templates for drawing sheets: In conjunction with the preparation of “QA\QC Construction Document Guidelines” publication, which covered standardized details for repetitive elements, including numerous sheets of details for both interior and exterior accessibility requirements.
Kim’s primary responsibility with the Chicago Regional Office will be working with Jerry Gross to assist in the growth and development of our ADA practice.
