Title: Securing Iconic Structures
Description:

Securing Iconic Structures was featured in the CTBUH Journal 2012 Issue II - International Journal on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat

This article evaluates how a complete team can meet the goals of the project, inclusive of security, while not detracting from the architect’s vision for the project. In the article, Sean Ahrens, Aon FPE's security practice group leader, discusses the emphasis of an integrated building design that takes into account security issues for not just the inception of the building, but the entire useful life of the building. The article stresses the concerns that should be addressed early on in emerging and potentially politically and economically charged international environments and sites specific project examples.

The article additionally introduces concepts and building approaches to security, demonstrating the benefit of collaboration between architecture and security to offsetting the potential for tomorrow’s uncertainties.
